Energy
Hello my loves!
The second prompt of the #OurPlanetWeek challenge was “Energy” and oh boy was I inspired for that one!
Now I have listened and watched a lot of conferences about the problem of energy and I am here to crush your dreams. But I’ll do it with flowers coming out of a power plant, so it’s ok.
The green energy revolution never happened and is a complete myth. Sure, you’ll see more and more wind turbines here and there and fossil fuel companies invest in green energy. But “green” renewable energy has never replaced fossil fuel, it has simply been added to it.
As you can see on the graph below, since the industrial revolution we have simply kept on consuming more and more energy every year.
It is critical for a better future to rethink our addiction to energy and take a few steps back. Every product, every packaging, every move we do is currently linked to using energy. The shirt you are wearing, the packaged food you are buying, heating, cooling, traveling. All of these have been manufactured. You don't always see the number of needed resources for a single product, but everything has an environmental cost.
