Pesticide Sprayer & Rainbow Mycelium

Third prompt of the #OurPlanetWeek was “Biodiversity”. Hosted by @OurPlanetweek on instagram.

Now biodiversity immediately made me think of the 6th mass extinction we are currently living in, also known as holocene extinction, solely due to us, humans.

The massive decline of biodiversity is partially a consequence of our current agricultural practices. Deforestations, excessive use of pesticides, monoculture, over production, waste, meat industry. Like we the rest of our current lifestyle, we need to face the mistakes we did, questions our current society and find creative solutions.

I decided to go with a representation of mycelium here, as mycelium, unlike us dumb mammals, has evolved into being healthily connected with all living plants and by extent beings. If we could only partially replicate that connection of balance with our surroundings, we’d be on the right path.
