Contradiction

art

Hello everyone!

I finally finished a new sculpture, this one only took 6 months of struggles and doubts. Haha. ^^’
The sculpture is a tree and bird hybrid that is rooted on a book, while wanting to fly away. Hence the title “contradiction”.

It is a good metaphor of the contradictions we face everyday. Humans tend to have a conquering trait, always wanting more, to see more, to travel more, to own more, but at the same time we need a certain stability and roots to thrive. It is certainly true for me. I have created a very stable life for myself, that I sometimes find boring, but at the same time it is that stability, as much emotional, physical and financial, that enables me to fly creatively and physically to other parts of the world, albeit just for a few weeks or months.

Well not now, of course, with the Covid, and maybe not for a long time, but that is another topic.

Below pictures of the sculpture.

Originally planned to retain this sculpture for my solo show in late 2022, but I feel bad for not having updated my online shop for so long, so I will put it there very soon. I have a few more sculptures that I need to finalize first.

If you are interested, I invite you to subscribe to my newsletter to be informed when this sculpture is in the shop.
