Shanghai - Pudong
Posts about our Shanghai Trip.
Luckily for us my exhibition was in the IFC, which is in the middle of Pudong. Where modernity is at its best :)
JY being a working architect and me having studied architecture... let's just say buildings make us happy :)
First a few pics in bright daylight. We didn't shoot all pics the same day, however, most were taken at the beginning when the sky was blue. At the end of out trip we had a dense smog.
Jin Mao Tower - Most beautiful details |
SWFC - Shanghai World Financial center Also called the "Bottle Opener" (for obvious reasons) |
Shanghai Tower (hopefully they will think of a better name when it's done) |
Pearl of the Orient by day (I renamed it "Disco Bowl Tower" - pretty sure I'm not the only one) |
IFC twin towers and behind the Shanghai Tower |
dense yucky smog |
For my birthday, on the 19 of July, we went up the bottle opener, entrance was free for me because of my birthday, and that's a huge yay, because going up isn't cheap :)
And just because... a few buildings by night.

Inside views of the malls, the IFC and next to it the SuperBrand Mall. I can tell you I know those malls inside out now, since I worked 6 afternoon in the IFC, meaning I ate daily at the IFC, and we would sometimes eat dinner at the Superbrand Mall. They're a bit like cities, super huge, and people stroll around like you would do along the sea or in a forest, most peculiar. But I get it. Air conditioning. Or as JY puts it "God saves the Clim'".
Malls are big. Really big. This is just a fraction of the SuperBrand Mall next to the IFC. |
Entertainment in the IFC mall |
IFC mall, or at least a fraction of it... |
