Nature Riden Astronauts

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while!
I have finally finished the astronaut project. A collaboration with artist Jeremy Geddes and MoonCrane Press.

The whole project took me a few months and most of January to get it done.
I did record two videos for my YouTube channel about this project, so be sure to watch these if you are curious.

For the record, I interpreted these astronauts as being dead and overgrown by nature. It does fit my personal artistic world better, as I like to take objects or trash made by humans and build a nature inspired environment around said object.
There is a total of twelve sculptures, as two will be for archives, but 10 will be sold.

This is the second time I work with MoonCrane press, last collaboration was with Miles Johnston.

Each of the astronaut is different and it was a lot of work to make these, but I’m quite pleased with the results and I hope you’ll like them too.
I played around with mushrooms, flowers, sea anemones/tentacles and my usual coral/fungi combination in bright vibrant colors. I decided to go with a clean black as a base to make all colors pop.
Apart from the astronauts which are a cast produced by MoonCrane press, all the rest has been done by hand.
I also used an airbrush for creating the gradients and finished the painting job with a brush. Here some pictures of all sculpts!
Let me know which one is your favorite! Mine is the one with the blue flowers, it also happens to be the last one I made and it’s a color combination I rarely do.
