This artwork presents double upcycling. The upcycling of a plastic bottle and the upcycling of my own artwork “Controlled Anger”, a sculptural painting I did back in 2016 but that I didn’t like. I stripped the painting down from all the sculptures and rearranged the growth onto a raspberry red colored plastic bottle, adding more growth to it to complete it.

It is part of a series of bright colored, candy-like, plastic bottles on which nature is taking over.
Plastic pollution is a real issue, one of the biggest myth is that you can recycle it. You can’t recycled it ad eternum. For every time you want to recycle old and used plastic, you need to add new plastic to the mix.
Plastic can only be recycled 2 to 3 times.
