A tree transforms into a delicate swan in this sculpture on a reclaimed book.
It is inherently contradictory, as the being wants to fly yet can’t as it’s rooted in a spot. This duality is representative of the contradictions we face everyday, the need to fly and explore, but at the same to have roots and be grounded. We are constantly in contradictions with ourselves, wanting outcomes that aren’t always compatible. As multitudes, we have to carefully compromise between the needs of our microbiomes and the needs of our conscious mind, often achieving that delicate balance subconsciously.
