Various plants are taking over a black gas mask.
The gas mask is a representation of humanity at its worst, when our choices threaten the very wold we live in, to the point we can’t breathe anymore.
This gas mask was found in Tallinn, Estonia and is a vintage find, though I don’t know from when it dates back to.
Incidentally when I was working on this sculpture, the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world, which added an interesting unintentional layer of meaning to this artwork.

I attached the mask on a primed MDF board and the mask is professionally framed.
